Victoria! Zeke's CB175 Build

This was the set up that was on lucky and worked just fine but Lucky didn't rev near as fast as this bike and didn't have the harmonic resonance that this one has. We checked the Cam ears the depth and everything was the same as the 200 to the 175 for the Dyna plate. This is also Lucky's cam that was sent off to megacycle.

that is great !! what a sweet feeling eh ??
i still think you should check the end play of the cam and shim it down to minimum

This is how we found the sweet spot on the Dyna S trigger. When the magnet is on the trigger the voltage going into the coil will be close to the voltage at the battery if the magnet is off to either side of the trigger the voltage will be about 1 volt less than the battery voltage.

Well my friend that explains the devil is in the details...Ricky Pearson #606 Ahrma was visiting with Zeke at bike night last night and is mentoring Zeke in the direction of racing. "Dad Ricky said we need to go to Colin Edwards Racing School" he also said with the power Victoria is making we would be competitive in CMRA ;) the journey continues

Will ferodo brake linings make a big difference?

We tested Ferodo linings and they made no difference to power or jetting. A complete waste of time. For some reason, the bike did seem to stop better though. :)

Best to get Michael (Mercury) Morse to fit 2520 linings and machine them to match the drum. Much better braking. You can do stoppies with decent linings.

By now you know I beat things to death with the word why and don't like remaining ignorant especially when lives are on the line. The Japanese call Kaizen but they got it from us when Deming and Fleming helped them with their inferior manufacturing process and were the brunt of the world's jokes much like the Chinese products are now.

Had lunch with an engineering friend and he said they will not use nylock in a high vibration setting because it reduces the area of surface tension. Take a look at this video demonstration http://youtu.be/mgwmuZuJ02I

Have y'all tried Nord-loc?

What about a rev limiter?

wonderful ,attach a device to the ignition with the intention of making it missfire

if you were drag racing or hillclimbing it would be a good idea,KISS

We all need a "bomb tester" huh? A spark plug tester in which the plug is exposed to approximately 200 psi. High voltage is applied, and the electrodes are observed to see the type and amount of spark being produced.

That's cool as hell.

Patrick and Zeke came out to bike night wednesday and brought Victoria with them. After a short struggle (nearly out of race gas) they got her fired up. I have never heard such a small motor sound so throaty and mean! He invited me to take it for a ride, and being an opportunist, I quickly agreed and jumped aboard. I have to say, the position was much more reasonable than it appeared, and I was off without any fuss. The motor screamed up to redline almost instantly, as I fumbled to shift. I could not believe how quick this bike is, or how amazing it sounds. Hats off to you DTT members giving up your tuning secrets to Zeke and Partick, this really is an amazing bit of work. It's exceptionally light, nimble and revvy. The rear brake is a joke, and the front brake has some guts but needs tuning. I'm proud to have had a hand helping Zeke with the wheels and I'm way proud of his determination and rapid skill learning.
