Victoria! Zeke's CB175 Build

If you want little to no side forces, you should use a Scotch Yoke. ;)
yep but they tend to be kinda long though :)
i worked in the nat gas field for a cupl years(gas technician we did everything including rebuilding these beasts) the ajax single cylinder compressor units were amazing you actually started them by grabbing the flywheel rotating just past tdc(note the slot in the guard to use a bar) and introducing one good shot of hi preshure nat gas into the combust chamber to get r rollin'
the flywheel did the rest as you flipped on the spark and carb fuel
the rpm's are controlled by spark cut -out
they were big-ass 2-strokes 8)

GS 400 came in 2 and 4 valve versions.
Everywhere but USA 4 valve motors are GSX ::)
Probably need the 1981~82 motor?

Coo, I forgot all about BITOG.
Don't remember when I signed up, will have to hunt down my password ;D
The friction coefficients are for a plain bearing engine, needle roller big ends will vary depending on rpm, cage material and clearance. I don't remember ever seeing information on roller big end except for some Suzuki RM stuff ??? years ago when the silver plated the bearing races to reduce friction. I think Yamaha did the same on YZ motors but I forget stuff ;)
dang the BITOG guys are totally OCD!

https://vimeo.com/116159654wow I didn't know you could post video direct to tapatalk.

Make sure you remove the schrader valve from the compression tester or you will sit there like dummy me for 10 minutes.

Well we never performed a compression test until now http://youtu.be/amkGSBD6eDU

Zeke has made a YouTube channel because he wants to pay things forward. He's been working with his older brother on the intro for his channel. And we would appreciate you critiquing videos on what we missed what we need to change and what we can do better.

we don't know because I pulled my back trying to turn the rear wheel by hand...

That sucks. I once pulled mine out sneezing. On the video ZEKE should mention bike should be warm and choke off full throttle.
Hope you heal fast..... To be continued......

thank you yep we missed that...we are going to cover that in part 2. A sneeze is a powerful thing. ;)

Kop taught us how to do a leak down test with a balloon. I know gauges are normally used but the balloon gives such a great visual.

About that, but that also assumes zero overlap on the cam, which is not true. PSI will always show a little bit lower than the compression ratio because there is a difference between static and dynamic compression.

10:1 compression usually comes in at around 185 PSI, but it's very dependent upon your cam. High duration and high lift will show as a lower PSI.

Do you see what my back sees for a 100 bucks? Now I have thought about taking the starter from victoria the sprocket a chain battery pocket rocket rear tire and sprocket and such. But this is an easy mod if the motor is strong enough. Cut the handle bars flip it over re weld voila?
