yes but he cant do that, charge more after the auction is over, EVEN IF he mentions it in the description,he is using the shipping calculator and is bound to the stated cost in the listing
i agree it would be a dikmove to hold him to it but there are lotsa dik buyers out there
i messaged the poor sucker and tried to clue him in
besides that thing looks way too big to ship international at least by usps which is the only non insane price-wise
He's covered by the wording in his auction description. And I doubt there's anything in eBay's selling agreement that states a seller is bound by their shipping calculators.
"I will ship anywhere for actual shipping cost, and pack this fairing very carefully.
PLEASE IGNORE THE SHIIPPING QUOTES!!! Ebay's templates do not like this package. I Will invoice shipping separately."
no sir, if you use the shipping calculator it is a contract with the buyer the seller is bound to it
the winner of the auction will get an invoice with the calc ship cost automatically the seller cannot stop that
does not matter what you say in the desrciption
very simple all he needs to do is revise the shipping part of his listing

Ebay automatically sets prices for shipping on some items (records used to be $4 tops). I kind of doubt that's what's going on here, but I manually send an invoice to all of my buyers. Nobody is going to hold the seller to the $5 ship.
No I fought a seller on ebay over this very thing and won. The auction states a shipping cost and that's it. Otherwise people would include gas money to post office. Mileage allowment mental pain and suffering involved in packaging. So the seller stands to lose if fought throu ebay.

The item is no longer available only works up to a certain point in time. Like I said I won so ebay doesn't seem to think like you. But well nevermind all I'm saying is, I got the part the seller paid for his fuck up and ahhh I won. The people that rule on this stuff aren't big fans of seller hanging a big question mark over the buyers bottom line, a contract is a contract your auctions may be different :
