Von Dutch / Jim Morrison 305 Honda.

If it were a Von Dutch, his signature would be in the paint somewhere. Mike Wolfe at Antique Archeology (American Pickers) here in Nashville would be able to confirm/deny its' pedigree. Most stories like this are pawn shop lore.

Yeah, it just doesn't look his style. Fabricated provenance to boost sale price.

If that was a genuine Von Dutch bike the headlamp, mounting ears would be striped and not taped and sprayed over. I always loved 305s and would love that one. But as far as Von Dutch goes, without a cast iron provenance, that's nothing more than a good story. But then this is the internet. Fake provenances can become genuine with the click of a mouse.

Interesting but sure doesn't look like Kenny Howard's style.

We used to call these "Freak Dots". Spot of paint then a quick blast of air to send it radiating out.
Tought they were as ugly as sin back then, but somehow they've kinda grown on me. :)

Funny thing. Back in the 50s there was a T bucket that Von Dutch striped. The owner sold the car around 1960. The new owner didn't like the paint and striping. It was out of fashion at that time. So he sanded it and repainted it in a more fashionable color. Now we're grasping at straws for anything "Von Dutch".
