Water from middle Exhaust?

OpTiCz

Coast to Coast
So I'm guessing it's normal to have water coming from the exhaust after the gas gets burnt off, but mine is dripping from the middle where the Mac megaphone meets the header.

I'm guessing if water can escape from there, fumes will either.
Will that effect performance?
Is there a better way to get a good seal?

I always apply a little anti-seize to the joint and the clamp bolt. I don't know if it improves the seal, but it makes pipe removal in the future MUCH easier.

Ahh sorry - I turn the signature and avatars off because I browse the forum at work ;)

Sounds like condensation build-up. Do you take it on long(ish) rides or just short trips? How is your oil looking? A little milky? That can happen as well if you only take your bike on short trips.

it's pretty quick after starting. I haven't been out too long yet.

Most people don't realize that water vapor is a by-product of combustion. Moisture always condenses in the exhaust system until it gets heated up. Most OEM pipes have a small drain hole at any low points in the system.

Yup combustion
Fuel + O2 = H2O + CO2

There's always water.

That's what I figured after the gas burns off. I put some anti-seize on there and I think that actually helped. I also don't feel any exhaust fumes coming off the middle anymore as well.
