Wet Media Blasting

coalnation

Live long and prosper.
Within the next couple of weeks I'm going to be making a pretty large investment. I'm currently trying to decide which company and machine I want to go with. Obviously the Dustless Blaster is the cheapest, which makes it the most practical, but I'm also looking at The Farrow System, The GeoBlaster, and Ecoquip. Does anyone have any experience with any of these systems? If so, what did you think? Pros and cons?

Any feedback is appreciated.

I have also looked into this, but don't know any of those machines by name.
I assume you're looking to get into "Vapor Blasting" for motorcycle and car part restoration?

Yes sir. Also plan on doing marine and masonry. I have my truck, compressor, water tanks, and business plan. Now I'm trying to decide on a machine.

I don't know anything about it, however there is a guy on here who is doing this in he Ontario region who may help you out as you are located far enough away to not be competition. I think there may be a link in the sponsors section you could PM him.

coal nation when you get some prices for these units please post if you have them.

i'm wondering if you built a wash down room almost like a shed that could collect the media as you washed it down to a collection drain and then re-used it rather that being a mobile spray unit and just use it stationary.

There is not a huge calling for vapor blasting as evident by how few places in the states are doing it and all of them will tell you it is a side line to their normal business and they don't make a living off the VB equipment. The place I use will even tell you where to get the equipment and not be worried about you taking business from them. It does leave a cool finish on cases and is a safe way to blast internal parts as the slurry of glass beads and cold soapy water doesn't actually remove material but peens it and seals and hardens the surface. Valve guides, cams, etc. can be blasted and just rinsed well for use.

The stationary ones are no different than most blast cabinets and do reclaim the media slurry
