What beautiful rearsets and can anyone identify this bracket???

Just bought a junker 1976 CB400F after discovering the most beautiful bike I have ever seen (the one below).and getting into the planning stages for its total overhaul. Got a parts list a mile long and one addition is going to be some beautiful rearsets. To be honest its become a bit of an obsession in only a week or so.

Looking for suggestions on full metal rearsets, nice quality ones. Plus looking to identify this mounting bracket so I can mock something similar up myself:

Cannot wait to complete the build and have something for the street to complete the garage alongside my 2010 KTM EXC

Open to other alternatives to mounting too, I perfer the triple mount hole rearsets to the single.

Don't know what bracket you're referring to. The brake lever is mounted on the passenger peg mount, it's part of the frame.

Doc you are correct, the bracket is the OEM rear passenger peg bracket, and the levers look custom designed.

If I'm not mistaken that is "spidermans" cb450. If so, the rearsets are tarozzis mounted to the stock passenger peg mounts.

Oh, passenger peg mounts, thanks for the clarification. How are people mounting rearsets on 400f's?

I'm picking up a 76 CB400F (Four) in a week or so and planning the build.

Tarozzi rearsets are available in several kits here in the UK.

A basic "Universal" kit which gets you the adjustable levers and pegs, right the way up to bike specific kits.

I've used them for years and always found them to be top quality.

Also anyone running the rearsets from ttr400, they look the business. Some pics of those mounted would be awesome for comparison.

Ultimately looking for function but in a nicely designed package if possible. Quality is also paramount but seems a given with both these options.

You'll have to weld some brackets to the frame to mount universals. The TTR parts are specific and mount without mods. The TTR site should have pics of them mounted.

I'd skip Tarozzi levers. Honestly, I have a set on my XS650 and have cracked one already from a few impacts from the kickstarter etc. They're cast aluminum and are brittle.

Get a set of cut aluminum levers from Loaded Gun or Durgham_K (hope I got that right) in the Selling section of the board. Much better IMHO than Tarozzi. I'm replacing mine with Loaded Gun rear sets.

Probably going with the TTR400 rearsets to be honest, they offer a weld on option and their quality looks the ducks guts (translation; brilliant).

I'm going to be using the loaded gun rear-sets with some of the tarrozi stuff mixed in. I really like the solid feel of the loaded gun rear-sets.

The TTR pieces are nice, and Kevin is a great dude, bit they are extremely spendy. To your door they're going to cost you $600+. On my 400f ill be doing something different just because of the cost. The bracket he makes is beautiful, but welding on a tab and fabricating up something different is way less spendy. I concur with Tim on not using tarozzi. I don't like the setup. I have some on gretta and they are loose and sloppy and not very good pedal feel. I don't have any experience with the loaded gun kit or Durgham's, but people are loving them.

What I found frustrating was how difficult it was/is to find right-left threaded rods to make adjustable rear sets. I never found a supplier and went with a Dime City's cut-to-fit set. They look great, but are non-adjustable. In the end, I had to work with my machinist to design my rear sets. They are billet and burly... and cost a bunch - not $600 worth, but expensive nonetheless.

You can use the stock rod from a CBR900/929/954, maybe the 600rr too. It is left threaded on one side and right on the other. Different years have different lengths. You should be able to find one that works.

There are a few items I have on my shopping list from him. Definitely his weld on rearsets, anyone running them? I would love to see them mounted, the bracket they come with and any reports on the quality/function.

The CB400F came stock with rearsets. 1975 and 76 models were set further back (as they should be) but the 1977 model had more forward foot pegs, shift and brake levers. What year is your bike? I love the stock 75/76 rearsets on my CB400f's.
