What caliper is this?

I have a 1972 CB500K1 and I believe the PO replaced the caliper with something from another bike. I found this out after buying brake pads that do not fit. It's a shot in the dark, but if you recognize it, let me know. Also, I don't suppose this would be dangerous? Is it worth spending $150 for an OEM caliper on eBay?

Cb450s took 2 different calipers depending on year. the early ones took ebc pad #FA12 (71-72 I think) later ones took FA 13.

Since nobody's answered your second question...

As long as the caliper works properly and you don't have any leaks in the system (from master cylinder all the way down), it's likely fine. The PO probably just threw it on since he had it laying around or it was easily available. Likely not much of a difference in functionality -- but I'm happy to hear of others think otherwise.

Thanks again for all of the replies! I bought some cb450 pads so I'll post back when I get them in.

Well, finally got everything together this past week using CB450 K4 pads and piston seal. Works great, thanks again everyone!
