What forks fit and look better on a 71cb350?

MB

Coast to Coast
Rebuilt the forks for my cb350, springs exposed (I have always hated the stock housing, gators don't do it for me either)....The bike is looking so great I feel like this is where it is let down.
I have noticed a bunch of folks using 550 and later cb360 forks. How easy is the fit and what are the advantages/disadvantages?
Cheers

My brother put a '69 350 front end on his 360 to get a drum front brake. The 350 triple tree fit on the 360 no problem except he needs to add a frame-based locator for the adjustable 350 triple.

Putting the 360 front on a 350 frame should be no problem.

I used a 94 EX500 front end on my 350. You just have to get the right bearings. Wasn't hard at all.

How did you expose the springs? Seems difficult to me...

Early cb350 forks had exposed springs.

360 forks will fit right on. You need the whole front end though, and it means converting to disk.

Anything else will require a neck bearing swap, which isnt difficult. Use the search function, theres a million different threads that will be really helpful to ya.

You can fit almost any front end you want, but make sure the length and width are somewhat similar to the 350. Most larger displacement bikes will have longer forks, which you want to avoid obviously.

Not sure if that's necessary. I'm swapping the fork legs on my 72 CB350 with a pair from a CB360. I want to use non-stock headlight ears so I need fork tubes that are chromed throughout the whole length. The 360 forks feel like they have better damping and are identical in length. I'm planning to stick with my drum brake and don't foresee a problem with that.

You are correct drj. Just use the axle and spacer for the drum wheel. If you need them I can send them to you for the price of postage.

Oh wow. Thanks. I'll see how the final exposed springs product looks. I just stupidly dropped some coin on NOS springs so I might just stick with them
