What do you guys run on your bikes I've been looking at the Dunlop TT100. What are some good cafe racer tires?

I run AVON Road Riders on my blown out XS650 (750cc hot cam motor) and on my BMW R75/6 touring bike.

Don't sweat the look of your treads. I like to say that if people can see the treads of your tires, you're not riding fast enough. Buy the best tires you can for your bike if you plan on riding it.

Nothing wrong with a more traditional tread tire like the Dunlop either.

If you're worried about the look of your tires, you're buying them for the wrong reasons. Tires and brakes are the 2 areas on a vintage bike where the vintage part needs to be overlooked, and safety needs to be the first concern.

Not only do those tires perform poorly, the picture you posted shows they are mounted on rims that are too narrow. The tires need to be on the correct width rim. A narrow rim and a wide tire causes the tire to be unstable laterally (side to side). Decreases handling. Even if you ride slow, handling means stopping quickly and safely or suddenly turning to avoid a collision. That is the time you don't want crappy gripping tires that don;t allow the bike to turn quickly and easily....Overly wide tires slow down handling too.

Those are replicas of a tire.
Suited for a flathead Harley......that's about it.
Well unless dress up is your thing.

Avons, gt501, ect.

I ran duros on a cb350 and they were fine

Those Firestones came out in 1948 and haven't changed much... There was an earlier version that was even worse, very squared off, almost like a 5.60-16 bias ply car tire. They are suitable (barely) for HD Big Twins, Indian flatties, Drifters (either size), Vulcan 800 Classic (doesn't handle worth a crap no matter what tires are on it), etc...

Dunlop, Avon, Michelin, Metzeler, Kenda, Shinko, Duro, German made starts with an H and I can't spell it past there. Not enough money in the world to make me run Bridgestone/Firestone or I.R.C. brand tires on anything. I'll run JC Whitney Chinese cheapies before I junk up a bike with those 3 brands... I'd run 40 year old Goodyears or Carlisles instead of the I.R.C. junk that ships standard on one of my bikes...

All of the big names make modern construction "retro" treads. Check the weather and speed ratings, and if you ride on chip seal or grooved pavement, avoid straight rib tires, they'll put you in the hospital or a coffin.
