I am not sure if someone has asked this question before, so apologies in advance if this is redundant.
I am in the middle of my bike build and I was researching for various choices for paint options for my frame and came across this beauty of a bike. I love bothe the frame and tank paint on this bike and was wondering if anyone could Identify the type of paint and the style of painting they might have used to achieve this result.
The tank and fender look to be Satin Black, to me and the frame to be Silver. Whether it came from a rig or a can, I couldn't tell you, but there's plenty of guys here that can, and probably will...
The look is achieved with a satin finish. An additive can be used to the clear coat or there is satin clear or satin single stage colors that don't require clear. With the additive is a bit difficult to control the amount of sheen. I have also used Hot Rod Flatz with great results. It takes the guess work out of it.

+1 Except for the getting the clear coat right. PPG has a system that you can control the exact amount of gloss or satin finish you want. But unless you have an actual paint rep or a friendly paint store supply that is willing to help you out, you won't have a clue what products to use or what the mix ratio is. Oh, it's not cheap either. Hot Rod Flatz is good stuff tho. The only problem I hear of with the Hot Rod Flatz is that you have to be perfect with your spraying technique. I personally didn't have any issues spraying it, but I have heard that if your overlap isn't perfect the paint will dry with tiger stripes.
