Thinking about pulling the trigger on a excellent condition 78 BMW r100/7 with 34,000 miles for $3100. Looked at it today and it was pretty nice. A couple of small dents in the tank but that's about it. He put some gas in the tank and she fired right up. All the bits and pieces are there and in excellent condition, doesn't need a thing. Tried low balling the old guy but he gave me the finger. Seems like it's def worth his asking price. What do you guys think? I've seen these listed in the 5k range. This isn't the bike, but looks pretty much exactly like this:
$3K is a fair price. I paid $4K for my 1975 R75/6.
The front snowflake wheel is prone to cracking, but last I heard was actually still under a recall/replacement plan with BMW. They redesigned it. Chances are yours would have the redesigned wheel.
Great bikes - once you have one you'll always have one.
