What's the farthest you've ever pushed a bike?

I was out on my 07 Yamaha R1 riding with some friends a few years ago and we were riding pretty hard, my low fuel like came on and I normally have about 40 miles til it will die on me, so we stopped at a gas station and shot the shit for a few minutes before parting ways, I look down, see ive only gone 24 miles, said screw it, was late. I was pretty close to home. so I pull out of the station, turn right and ride down a decent size hill, then run out of gas. guess the hard riding ate up a little more than I thought. such an idiot. I ended up calling the only person that wouldn't laugh at me for running out of fuel after leaving a gas station within 1 mile.. MOMMMMMYY

Your mom is way nicer than mine

My folks would have made me leave the bike, key in the ignition and signed title taped to the seat...

My longest push was a couple miles. Best push? 100 yards past the boat ramp and fed my Ironhead Sportster (first of 2 that went the same way) to the Snake River. Thumbed a lift home. The 2nd one fed to the river was on the WA side, the first was in ID. Good riddance to both of those junk heaps (they were beat to death and not worth fixing in the early 1990s, couldn't give away an AMF bike).

A couple years ago I was out with both brothers riding dirtbikes south of Lake Havasu City, Az. I was on a 94 CR 250, younger brother was on Dads XR 600 and baby brother was on an 89 CR 125. Anyway, younger brother crashed going down a hill and the left footpeg hits his left foot. He broke all the bones and tore tendons in his foot!! We didn't know at the time.obviously, but he was in alot of pain. I run up the hill, pick him up and get him down to my bike, then have to go get that beast of an XR. I put him on my bike and ended up pushing that thing for 2 miles through about 6 inches of sand. Oh yeah, did I mention it was after dark, we couldn't see a thing and the only way we knee we were still on the trail is by feeling the burns on each side? To this day, that was the sketchiest experience I've had on a bike. We eventually made it back to the trailer but not until after 9pm.

Just to say it " If you have never broke down or pushed a bike either street/dirt then you haven't ridden long enough , and if your seasoned ride and say you've never broke down your laying ;D

So spill the beans ...

Pushed my 750 about 4 miles in driving rain in a not-so-nice area of Jacksonville after my ignition decided to fry itself. Had to cross 2 major roadways (6+ lanes) then turned off the main road onto the most ghetto (and dark by this time of night) road ever. Just happened upon a shop that worked on Harleys. He was just closing up and hollered for me to bring the bike inside. He ended up being a really cool old biker, who just happened to notice my work shirt, and he was practically best friends with our fleet mechanic. He told me I could leave it inside, but he couldn't help with the problem as he didn't have much in the way of Metric parts. But he assured me it would be safe. I called up the wife and she came and picked me up. Next day I came back and sue enough, my bike was still safe and sound. I loaded it up in a friends truck and hauled it off. I gave the guy a 12 pack of beer and made a new friend.

I pushed my bike 10 blocks to a gas station, ran out on the way home from work. I was fun pushing it with my tie and kachis on.

Was riding my roommates V65 for a couple days, having a pretty bum week, the day before payday.
Just need to make it home from work. (Gas light doesnt work, knew it was close)
No $$$, and no cellphone, died about 3 miles from home. Pretty flat minus the initial hill, and of course I'm in full gear.
V65 isnt a huge bike, but I'm only 140 lbs. I was pretty tired at the end of that one.
I have pushed my V45 (not as far however) it pushes much easier.

Uphill 2KM on a main freeway, in full gear. Im thankful it was just the little Cb360.

Could have been much worse. Could have been better.

Far enuff to never buy another fucking Honda bike/car/mower/generator/robot what ever junk that company makes you can have it. When the rd breaks there is usually a connecting rod hanging outta the case so I get a ride to my truck

Wheres the love???

Why so much hate for Mr. Honda's goods?

I think the bike that I have had to push the most is my Honda. But it is still on its first set of piston rings, and it was built in 1969.

The bloody chinese quad I had though. Got sick of pushing it around, ended up riding it off a cliff into a river.

The first bike I ever built was an old shovelhead. I took it out on its first ride and all was going well until I ran out of gas at the bottom of 2 hills of equal terrible grade with the closest gas point 3/4mile away. It was also spring so still a bit chilly. I wasn't wearing gloves and the roads were damp so I was already uncomfortable but still semi excited because up until gas, all was excellent. After an hour or so I finally get to the gas station which prompted automatic vomit and dry heaving from over exertion of energy. Needless to say I've never ever ran out of gas again. That 600lbs bike taught me a good lesson about checking gas before I get out on the road haha.

Bout a mile... I bump started my already dead Katana and took off down the street. I had planned to ride close to WOT on this normally empty road to help it charge a little. Lo and behold that day I got stuck behind an trash truck....a leather jacket makes you sweat pretty fast in the Ga summer while pushing a bike.

3 am on a sunday morning i was on my way home on my first bike, a 350 Bridgestone. I was slowing to make the turn from a state route onto a county road and seized a piston. Eight miles from home....and it started to rain. I pushed it the whole way home. Some level, some downhill, but a fair amount with a slight incline. that was 42 years ago. That's what young and dumb will do for ya.
