Here in sunny Devon, just outside Exeter. Just bought a 1978 GS550 to use as a project. Want the bike MOT'd and ready to roll then will do some minor mods as I go. Major big jobs in the winter. Ie, strip down, powder coating frame and wheels, re-spray and engine clean. Want to have some use out of her first. Minor tweaks will be bars, seat, de-tab, cut down front mudguard, new rear guard and maybe change the dials.
Anyone else in Devon?

Don't know what it's like now, but, I always found the police in the 'west country' far more 'accommodating' than South Wales Constabulary

Thanks for the welcome. Here's a couple of pictures of my bike as it stands at the moment.

If anyone's got a disk version of the cast rear wheel in 18" I'd be interested to know (or a nice set of spoked wheels would be even better)

Not what you want to hear, but I just sold my last two spoked sets at the weekend..might have another pair for grabs if I decide to flog one of my projects in a week or two...
