Who Wants My Zook?

Been Around the Block
Hey, fellas.

Damnedest thing happened. I got a job offer in Myanmar. Friggin' Myanmar!
You know, SE Asia, used to be Burma...

Anyway, I need to get rid of my '81 GS750. It's the much maligned "L" model, but it was my intention to "beat the 'L' out of it." I've collected some crap to help in this process, including:

GSXR rearsets
Cheap but (I think) cool LED turn signals
3 out of 4 NOS OEM .050 over pistons (long story)
Dyna 2000
Shindegen regulator/rectifier to replace infamous NipponDenko R/R
Cafe fairing, in need of some glass work
Extra front tire
Mini Speedo

-Clear title, Prescott, AZ, $700

...and I might be talked into parting with

Kickass old Russian bullet headlamp

I forgot a couple of other things:

Shop manual
tank from an '81 GS 850 G in okay-ish condition
New petcock

Pics to follow. Photobucket is doing something odd right now.

I'm assuming you can take it with you? In those parts motorcycles are the majority for transportation.. Though it may be cheaper to buy something once over there..

Congrats on the job!

Funny thing about that. The job is in Yangon (formerly Rangoon), and motorcycles are BANNED there. Apparently, this policy is a leftover from the old regime. bikes were just too convenient for drive-by's.

Outside of the city, however, there are dual-sport bikes available for rental. Hopefully, pics to follow...

Hell of time taking it with, and likely not be able to get it legal (size is a factor). Although I haven't lived in Burma, I have worked and lived elsewhere in Southeast Asia. You'll predominently small displacement Japanese bikes, some new shitty Chinese junk, and, if you're lucky, in Burma you might find some old brit bikes or old Beemers.

Crazy developments in Burma lately, a lot of good, although not so great if you ask the Karen or the Rohingya. Rangoon? Nyapidaw? Mandalay?

Yangon - formerly Rangoon.

About 750 miles from all that crazy shit with the Kachin rebels. Still, plenty close enough.

The day I picked it up:

Oh yeah, and I'll also throw in a DynoJet Stage 3 Jet Kit.

Hey, it beats just typing "bump" over and over, right?
