whose done rear sets on a dohc cb750?

I have "rear-set" pegs and controls, but they're not done like true "rear-sets". My pegs are basically in the pass. position with my controls flipped around. I'll be fabb-ing up some rear-sets eventually (hopefully soon). When I do get them done, I'll post them up.

yeah I'd like to see some options too...82 dohc 900f'er here

I have clubmans on, but i'm thinking of clip-ons instead and I really need some rear-sets

I caught hell on the cb1100f.net board when I said I was going cafe with my bike...i've had several people tell me not to cut it up...

hmm..oh well, I'm doing what I want to with it..

heres both girls together

and the honda alone...all i've done is put the clubmans on..

The honda doesn't look too bad for a bike that sat in a barn uncovered for 13 years, esp since it was free

I've seen Tarozzis that go with cb750/900/1100's F'ers but they also cost a pretty penny at about 300 bucks for a set. BUT they claim to be a direct bolt-on to the frames as long as it hasnt been altered and remains stock.
I've also seen a lotta people here just fab up rear-sets off gixxers and/or whatever else they can find.

Nein_Collins,

I see that your 900 has the same rear foot peg brackets that my 78 CB750 has. If you check out my build thread below I have some pics of how I used that bracket and some CBR600 rear sets. I only have a few pics on my thread of the rearsets, but I can easily take some more for you at better angles if you need.

awesome ride nein!!

rrredisk, your bike is commin along great! im lovin the rear sets. i hate that these bikes have those ugly chunks of metal holding the pegs on.

you 2 need to show some pics of your bikes! there isnt enough dohc on here. it seems to be...forbidden

nothing is forbidden. there are a few dohc here. try the fighter thread too.

You guys know the euro/aussie models had rear sets as standard? The yanks called them a 'sports kit'. Includes clip-on style handlebars as well. That's information you could have gotten from 1100f.net ;)

might be worth looking in to?

cheers

+1 to what Ian said. If you keep your eyes peeled, you can find "euro/Aussie/Canuck-spec peg brackets that are supposed to bolt right up to our bikes, but with rear-biased foot placement as well as rear passenger capability as well. I am currently hunting for a set myself. I think there may be a need for a shift linkage connection as well, given the rear placement of the pegs.

Well yeah, there's a couple of hidden extras ;D

You'll need a longer swing-arm bolt. (An additional problem for you Jonny is the 750 bolt is a smaller diameter) A different brake lever and pivot, and the rear-set shift linkage.

Nothing that can't be solved.

My son and I are in the process of building rear sets for a cb750 DOHC,when we get them carved out I'll try to upload a pic.

I just picked up some rearsets from a Ninja 500 (I think) out of the junkyard for what probably amounted to $20. (Lump purchase with other parts). It looks like I'll have to do some fabricating in order to make them sit just right, but on the other hand, looks like it really won't be that hard. Once I get all the geometry and mounting figured out, I'll put up a little how-to.

Im on that same DOHC board, with my 1100F. I have been looking into making some modest rear sets for mine. i need to retain the passenger pegs, as this is the only scoot i have that can go 2-up. My son loves to ride with me, so I want to keep them on there.

Ill be looking into it this summer. I just finished up with my XS650 units, for my cafe project. Im trying hard to get that build done by June, July time frame.
I may just buy the Tarozzi mounts, and use my own levers, and pegs.

Just an idea for you guys lookin to retain passanger pegs with rear sets and what not. I plan on buying/making a set of pegs that will clamp on the frame so that i can cut off the huge passanger peg mounts on my bike (79 750k).
