Why do carb rebuild kits have the wrong stuff in them??

Is it just me or are carb kits usually not nesasary? The brasss parts are usually fine after I clean them. Really I just need the rubber parts and new SS or zinc plated screws. Anyone sell a kit like that? Anyone have the orings list for a 1971 CB350 twin carb?

Carb kits have the wrong parts because Honda has at least 5 different carbs for the cb350 alone. Some have push in jets, some have screw in jets. You need to know exactly what carb you have, even if you get the parts directly from Honda.

Never had the wrong parts in a factory kit...
The aftermarket K&L Emgo or what ever sirurs?? In CA sell are junk.

The aftermarket kits usually have a bunch of extra stuff because they're trying to make the kit fit as many models as possible (less p/n to produce/stock). Unless the bike has been sitting for years with gas in the carbs, the odds are that you can get away with just buying a gasket set w/o instead of the full rebuild kit.
