WTB XS650 parts

Roustabout

Been Around the Block
I'm looking for an xs650 447 crank assembly(74 and up). I'm not worried about the condition of the rods or bearings as this will be a donor for a project. Failing the availability of a crank, I would take a motor.

If anyone has a stock swing arm they keep tripping over in the garage I'd be interested in helping you dispose of it. Condition of the paint or bushings is not important.

I would prefer to pick the parts up - I'm in Guelph.

Sorry dude .. I've only got 2 of those in the stack of stuff I have, and I sorta need them.

I've got a whole running 1974 XS650 for sale... but's in Winnipeg and it's $1500 (with a set of 1979 forks)

Did you ever find a swing arm? I have one from an '82. Where is Guelph?

Hey manxman - lets see more of that bike in your avatar. Looks a lot like what I'm building.

Guelph is just a tad west and north of Toronto, Canada. I didn't want to pay $30 shipping for a $20 part ....

That's my SR500 project. A tribute to the Norton Manx. Far, far from done.

Nice to see what my bike is sort of heading towards. You can see my Manx-inspired XS650 project here:

I recently found an Evan Wilcox Manx replica tank that was custom made for the XS650 frame. Looks very much like yours - is it by chance by Evan as well?

Nice! Being a twin, I expect yours will more resemble a Triton. One of the most original cafe racers!
Yes, Mr. Wilcox made my tank on order so I paid a premium for it. Would like to find one for a 650 too.

I got lucky - someone ordered it and decided to go a different direction. I picked it up for about 1/3 the cost of a new one.

Only thing I was surprised and a little dissapointed by was my monza-filler cap seems to be epoxied in place, not threaded onto a welded on mount. I don't think I could ever replace it. I had a different alloy tank (most of the pics in my thread) which I think came out of the UK. It had a baffle in the tank to control fuel sloshing, and the filler cap threaded on. My Wilcox tank has neither of these features.

But, it sure looks nice! I think it's pretty much identical to the one on your bike - mine has clip-on indentations.
