Ok I think I might be coming from the farthest point east, unless any of the newfies are coming. I want to plan my route and was wondering who else is coming and when they are leaving, what route they plan to take and would they like to meet to ride as a group. I will be riding my 79 GL1000, and would love some company to and from for at least part of the trip. I have to get the time off work, I can take up to 5 days off. It is 1130 miles for me one way. I would like to leave early on the 20th and get to Hartford CT, that's 630 miles, then go the rest of the way on the 21rst. But I can change that some if it means meeting up with some people to ride with. Mapquest shows I would go right through Harrisburg PA, so maybe some of the PA riders might meet up? So, let me know who is going and when, maybe we can meet up and ride together fro part of the trip. It is all going to be interstate for me so kind of boring. there is a small part through maine that is twisty and fun, the route 9, but after that it is all long straight interstate at 80 MPH.

Cheers,

I am getting excited to make this trip.

Cool Go, Glad you are stoked too. Troy gave me his Zip for people to googlemap/mapquest the routes:

Kingwood, Wv 26537

he had it posted a while back in the BTC thread.

I wish I had a couple more days off to do more of a scenic ride, but the scenery should be awesome around Troys and mountain fest. Hope the bike an body can handle this. Might try and invest in an airhawk saddle cover.

Cheers,

The'res a few of us from Philly going, we are trailering as well as riding I believe, some ride..some drive...then we switch. Last time I looked it was about 5 to 5 1/2 hrs from Philly. We aren't really on your route though...

I notice Philly is south of where I will be riding through PA. This will be a big trip, I haven't been farther south than Boston driving in the States. And that was by car. I am going to try to get in a couple of all day rides to get used to the idea, longest ride yet has been 4 hours, It wasn't too bad but trying to go 1200 miles in 2 days is going to be work, but I think it will be worth it.

Don't just TRY...DO!
I doubt my CL360 will be done but I intend to drive CRANKY 1 from Philly Metro.
If anyone needs stuff transported or ride support help (tools/fuel/tow) let me know.
If there is still camping space at Troy's I will bring tent.

Heaven is so far away.
I'm gonna try and get a trailer and load up the West Penn small cc bikes. Mine, JFsih, maybe Cortezthedog, whoever really.

Surely there's some guys coming in from New England that would ride in with you Maritime?

I think Diesel450 is in Portland ME, going to PM him and see if he is still planning on going. It is 5 hours ride, depending on border wait, For me to get to Portland. If I can meet up there it would be great. Hope to then meet some more as we get closer to Troys place.

Cheers

You guys know I'll be there! It's a 12 hour-ish trip according to Google maps from B'ham AL. Already have the time off request in. I'm gonna be off the 19th-26th, so I'll have plenty of time to do it. Now I just have to finish Gretta...sometimes is feels like so far to go, but I'm a stubborn ass! Anybody down south wanna hitch up with Me, my wife, and Go?

If you send me a life sized cardboard stand up of yourself I will go and bring it with me.

Come on Swagger, there are very few people that I can think of that I want to be there more than you my friend. What's keeping you from coming? I would be glad to pitch in to the "fly Swagger to WV" fund. ....we can make it happen!!!!

Yeah, it comes down to money....I haven't got much! HA!
Unfortunately I had to spend most of my discretionary tool fund on other things...not even tools.....so I'll be living vicariously thru pics and such.
