Awesome. My daughter and wife are doing the colour choice on mine. Thankfully I agree with their choice :D

Finally made some more progress. The steering head bracing is finished and I changed the rear tank mount. Battery mount is next.

I'm a little concerned that there isn't enough, ahem, ballroom.

This bike looks like it will be ridden. And shifting my ass on a seat that seat - port to starboard and fore to aft... I'd be wary to hang off the bike.

You have radically altered that bike's geometry. The front is too low, this bike will be unstable under braking. What's the rear sag?

You may get away without doing an endo with very stiff front springs, but I think you really want a bike that is nice to ride, not something that will break your wrists.

Yeah, what caferay said.

Adjusting the rake and trail of a bike is a really big adjustment that should have some thought go into it (not saying you haven't). Definitely effects rideability if not safety as well. Maybe you've got all this covered, but just wanted to check.

The seat is the same size as an 08 R1. The pics must make it seem smaller than it is.

I have always set sag with the bike together and me sitting on it. How do I do it without it finished? I was planning to use a set of forks from an 96 zx6r so i set them at the same height it's actually still a little higher. If I don't go with the other forks and it is unstable I can just raise them in the triple trees.

A 2008 R1 has a much lower seat profile and tank profile that allows you to move around. That seat pad angle looks like you're locked in. But you've sat on it, so it must feel right.

I think you have things well under control here. ;)

I'm planning something similar with a kz1000 and some bits from this and that. You're inspiring me. :D

Keep up the good work! ;D

I can see your point I hope it is ok how it is. It doesn't feel bad sitting on it in the shop but that's not the same as riding it.
