XL600 Tracker

haha! Oh man, wasn't expecting a reaction like this.

But, thanks guys for your input. Especially about the geometry/possible danger.

For now I'm going to try it with the shorter shock. If the bike rides funky (like you guys stated) I'll swap it out for the stock one.
No worries.

This is my first attempt at modifying a bike... I don't consider it a rape.lol

Needing some suggestions/help with a headlight.

The gastank makes it look a bit off, i think a tank from the XT500 might look good on this? -Or just something that doens't look like a camels back.

Are you going to replace the speedo/tacho? Maybe do something like this with you front, then you could hide the speedo and tacho behind the plate.

You can trust me about the fact that the bike will ride "funky" as you say it. I've been were you're right now.
Roll her down the hill for dry testing and you'll be swapping shocks like there's no tomorrow ;)

I didn't mean to offend you with my previous "rape" reply, it's just that tmho all you did (except the rim swap) is not really improving the bike's looks and handling ;)

As long as you we don't kill ourselves, trial and error is the best way to learn. I'm signing up to watch.

No offense taken man. I appreciate the concern.
I'm gonna try the hill trick when I get done with school.

Down the road I want to ditch the stock speedo/tach and put on a Trail Tech unit. I'm thinking next winter though.
I've seen that plate/light setup before. I like it, but I'm looking for just a big single headlight.

So, it's been a while since I've worked on it. It's finals week and I graduate the 5th of May.
No updates until after graduation.

Sorry for getting off topic, but I would really like to see more pics of this bike. :)

Just ordered some UNI filters.
Should get the exhaust done next week.
Then I'll just need to find a headlight/finish up the wiring.

Cherry harvest started a week ago. So been busy working.
I was able to get some help with finishing it up. She idles perfectly. Should have some updates soon.

Anything new on this build?
I am looking at a XL600R this week and looking for inspiration.
