An adjustable 1 into 3 throttle cable I believe. Assuming this guy is still around, I might just grab this kit. It's $312 and comes with everything: http://www.spec2.com/xscarbs.html

As seen here: http://www.yamaha-triples.org/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=23206&DisplayType=flat&setCookie=1

Ha I've just been burned by these MKII's enough times now that the idea of working with 3 brand new VM34's is so appealing. And the idea of working with another set of those bastards is much less appealing. Although if one could get them for under $100, it would be worth it to at least give it a shot.

The other problem is that XS1100 carbs are jetted differently in the middle than the outside, so I may still end up where I was before without the jets that I need.

I hear ya... a clean bench synced set could sell like hotcakes in spring. I can always zone out on carbs with a Budweiser and tunes for $100 an hour

Totally. If I can land those for a good enough deal, I'm sure I could turn them for a profit if they don't work out. Either setup for an 850 or reverted back to the 1100 rack. I have a bunch of random 1100 jet's laying around, so I might actually have 3 matching sets between what I have and what these would come with.

Ya, its been raining since Sept here. Old girl is under a tarp next to my house. Didn't score that 1100 carb rack, or any of the triumph racks. so I'm leaning towards biting the billet and going with the spec 2 VM's.

Unless something else shows up on eBay. Just haven't really been looking.

I've also had this guy to keep my mind occupied: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=67953.0

@datadave - is this a compatible triumph set? http://www.ebay.com/itm/181988815594?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Interesting that Triumph throttle bodies are cheaper and easier to come by. If only a fuel injection swap was a simple task...

Heehe, love that whacky xv!
I would think they fit, not the same as mine, they were from a Legend, but i think they share the same engine?
Mine are keihins, these are mikuni?
Yes, i think its the way to go, newer more available carbs + cheaper. Whats not to like?
Plus it just runs so much smoother and better than my last one with worn old carbs.

Not sure if these will work for your bike, they are off of a two stroke snowmobile, so they would need new jetting and obviously they need the slides and needles (which I happen to have, the carbs the slides and needles go to that I have are complete crap PM if you want more info and pics about the slides) but I know for a fact the guy will accept a $70 offer because I offered him $60 and he came back with $70 which I don't have right now. Figured I will pass it on to a fellow DTTer and live vicariously through them. If they won't work sorry.

EDIT: I am not sure the size carbs you need so if these 34's are to small I apologize.

Great idea, but for the money... this set is super nice!

Those are way better, and if I had the cash they would be gone. I was originally looking for my self for my GT750, the carbs on that thing are junk. I figured with the need to rejet and the fact that I already have the slides and needles in good condition from the VM32 (that also happen to fit the VM34) the price is right on that other set. But those are way better. But this isn't about me so back to the show, hope you get some good ones Treitz.

Nice carbs as long as you know that the float valves are 1.5mm for a pump and need to be replaced with 2.5 or larger for a bike. SLides are usually wrong and needle jets usually need to be swapped out as well.

The VM38's posted by Tune-a-fish are going to be way to big. These 34's should work though. If you wouldn't mind shooting me a PM about those slides and needles I might just grab them. $70 for 3 VM carbs is a steal!

So parts I would need to replace are...
- Slides
- Needles
- Jets
- Float valves
- I'd also need to track down choke levers
- And a 3 - 1 throttle cable

Might add up quickly...

I'll probably place a bid on the last day. See if I can get them for a good price. It looks like that bike is a 955, so they'd likely need rejetted. Hopefully those jets are easier to come by than the old ones.

955 is probably closer in jetting than the legend, i went from 90 mains to 140. needle one notch up then it was all good.
