YANX 600 Yamaha XJ(FJ) 600 Goes Cafe

Well Pat, I am wondering if you have stopped working on it and started riding it? Leaving the additional work to do until next winter? She is a beautiful ride.

Hi
Well, something came in the way. Work to much and seperated... so just moved into a new apartment. So right now I m spending all time and money on totaly other stuff than building on my bike. On top of that there is an absolutely wonderful summer here in the north, so any freetime is in the sadle on my other bikes for the moment. But as soon my living is back to normal, first rainy day wil be spent in the garage again :)

So, summer has run into autumn in sweden. Lot of crappy stuff has pased through life last 6 months, but also lot of fun. Sold my Triumph Daytona 955 in June when someone broke ignition lock to steel it, without succes. Bought a Yamaha Thundercat, quite fun, easy ride and spent many hours riding along sweden. Sold my Yamaha XVS as I never used it and bought a Honda VTR 1000 F... LOT OF FUN. But now the roads are wet and covered with yellow leafs, so the funny rides are more or less over until spring.

How about my cafebuild then... well, been in the garage a couple of times , made some small progress. Started to do the eletrics... ouh, not my cup of the.... but needed.
Rear brake is finaly assabled, alot of try and error before I got it working!
Made some boxes in alu for eletric stuff.

And also took it out in the sun so I could get a chance to look at it from some distance.
Think I will ttry fab a seat in polished alu instead of paint the one I got in metall?

That thing is coming along nicely. As a fellow XJ owner, I'm overly impressed with your attention to detail.

WOW

The Yanx is looking great out there in the sun. The full bike shots show off all the hard work you've done on this. The tank and tail have really nice lines. She looks fast sitting still, I guess that is the goal that we all have for our bikes. Happy to hear you are able to get back to work on this too.

If you cant get any more motivation, you can just send it over my way :)

True, bad choice of words :)
And it was great to get it outside and have a chance to look at it from some distance.

Started cleaning the oilcoller, pulled it apart and start sanding parts. Will have a gold frame and black. Also got alurods for "welding" alu, will try this out on the covers for swingarmbolts. Hope to remember bring a camera :)

Tnx "neighbour"!
Today was great for a ride here in Gothenburg. Still found some time to drop by the garage. Oilcooler is now painted in black and gold and ready to be mounted on bike.
1 small step clooser finnish :)

We had snow in Oslo yesterday,so i would say it was an exiting day to ride........

Oh, already snow... can imagine that...
I'm about to get an offroad in my garage, hope that's the way to make the season a bit longer...
