Split battery case, leaked acid all over, get a new one. Next time, it might get on your ass. Probably either shocked it too hard, or it may have got a charge surge from bare wire/bad generator/blown fuse/etc.

I noticed a substance on some of the wiring that I could not identify. Maybe just road debris of some kind. See new photo above.

Zoom out a bit and give us some details on the electrical system. Clearly a Ballistic battery but impossible to figure everything else out. How many volts at the battery terminals when the bike is idling, and when revving to 3-4K?

I have not checked the terminals or really tested anything yet. Was pretty bummed and just parked it for the night.

Can't be the regulator on this one, it's with the charging circuit I posted for the previous owner (fatherjohn).
It's charged by a charging circuit, not directly by the regulator.
Either the voltage-setting on the charging circuit isn't correct (too high) or the battery died because of vibrations.....
OR it shorted out, because none of the positive terminals (battery or regulator) are insulated...!!!!
