bro sold off some of his toys to put some $ in the bank of his wedding. so the chop and the wing are gone... could not, NOT own a bike. so he and i hunted a few months for what he wanted... decided on the new z1000

we started to plan the build out last night and then began to tear it down, the bike is basicly brand new 100 miles on it... here are some pics... THINK WHITE! cause we are using a TON of white on this ride

nto much to show... but got alot of the paint work done on the plastics... came out great, went satin black on all the gray... then pulled the lamp to run all time duell HID... after he gets home from his vacation we will really tear into it for powder... it is all here in the shop just got to prep and lay it!

we have added Lighting to the back of the bike, alternate brake lights and turn signals, HID lamps are in both bulbs and they are re wired to both be on... super bright... shooting some high temp powder on the header and new exhaust mufflers this weekend as well

just cheep-o ebay ones, like $20... cut the welds on the bar threads for the bar end weights... made some new rubber expanders, shaved the tabs off the end of the mirror mounts and bolted them on... works great! actually just pulled htem off last night removed the glass and will be powder coating them tonight

Are you keeping the red accents? I think the bike would look badass strictly black and white.

the candy orange, hell ya buddy... we color matched the orange, tonight i am going to lay a silver base coat on the wheels, then the orange, mask that off, shoot the white, pull that masking off and clear the whole wheel, so that it has candy orange fatty wheel stripes inside the lip of the rim... will tie in the orange a bit more on the bike... the black is actually a charchole, went though alot of trouble to color match that factory color, was a bear, but we got it matched! so all the "black" will be shot in this color so that the whole bike is uniform and i do not have to drop the motor out and shoot the frame to get everything to match. the whol bike will have the color matched charchole, white, and accent'd with the candy orange... looks baller... there is a little satin black on the bike as we shot the top part of the fairings and the guage bezel in satin black paint when he first go the bike... looks so much cleaner!

you can really see the difference here, it is unreal how much some paint on a few select parts wll change the look of a bike!
before paint

after
545655_10150701484618073_594008072_9589392_571038346_n.jpg

that was the original plan... however with all the white we are adding in powder i think it will have a good mix

well after 2 nights in the shop till 4am... my brother and i made some headway on his scoot... got the color match for the orange on the bike figured out, was able to get the wheel laid in that, so that we can now mask it off and lay the white then clear the whole thing, this will let us run a fat color matched orange wheel stripe on the inner drum to tie in the paint work down lower on the bike... also got all the white shot, swing arm shot, the color match we came up with for the swing arm and odds and ends to the factory frame is BALLS on! perfect! and i have to say i really dig the color as well... need to pick up some needle bearings for the swing arm, then we can start to assemble... each bike we build for him he always goes out of the box on color choice, for HIM this is very mellow... and i have to say he has done it again... this white has a nice flake to it just like his factory tins white... looks so pimp, was able to seal the whole thing in a super durable clear as well so it is Tough as nails!

here is the wheels in the base, orange for the wheel stripe

you can really see how the tips follow the flow of the ends of the pipes, keeps the nice wave shape even in the powder

Really excited to see this one buttoned up! Cool bike.

very cool bike

Why did you go with this over other 1000cc "standards"?
I ask because i really like this bike, and the honda, and triumph and the ducati...lol

the z1000 flat out destroys any of the competition on comparison rides... plus bike of the year 2 years in a row is tough to beat... it was flat out a better go to than any of the other standards out there... and we looked at all of them from metric to british... 600 - 1000... we did look at several of the ducati's but for the money the z was just flat out better bike for the price.
