ok so i checked the wiring and it looked like everything was hooked up right. I checked the spark again the evening and it looks like i have spark on the right side but not the left. Could that just be the spark plug cable or some other component?
The horn isn't really working either. I tried...
wow. after an engine rebuild and full overhaul my 73 CB350G isn't starting. This is what i know:
The headlight works.
The horn works.
The neutral light comes on.
I pulled both (new) plugs and they don't spark.
None of the turn signals work.
I have looked at the wiring diagram and don't know...
ok. looks like i didnt realize my torque wrench doesnt disengage at the set torque. youre supposed to read the screen and it tells you to stop. well that is dumb.
if i over torqued the bolts will they be damaged or stretched? what should i do? i already backed them out and took off the bottom...
So I am using a Craftsman digital torque wrench to reassemble the bottom end of my '73 CB350 engine. I am using new steel bolts along with anti-seize lubricant but one of the bolts snapped even with the wrench set at the lowest setting (6 ft-lb) recommended in the clymers. it really seems like...
figured it out. im pretty sure the sprocket is backwards which threw me off. im going to pull the engine again to locktite the bolts which i never did and replace the seals. uggh, this sucks.
interesting. i have two versions of the shop manual and page 44 in both of them doesnt talk about the timing at all. one is on the lubrication system and one is about the rotor.
stuck
tried going another 360 but the camshaft still stays in the orientation that fuly engages the exhaust valve. the only thing i can think is that i swapped my 73 camshaft fro one from a 72 cb350g. i havent found anything to say that they are different. but i have read of a 1968 "fat camshaft." any...
cool. that helps. but if i jump teeth that means the stator will need to rotate and i wont be following the manual's instructions (the stator wnt be at "LT" when the sprocket's marker line is horizontal).
one other thing.. is the L mark and horizontal line on the cam sprocket supposed to face the points or tach side? i would think it should face the points side but the picture in my manual shows it facing the tach side.
thanks again yall
im back in the top and pulled the side covers and rockers. now when i sync the cam sprocket to the L mark and horizontal line to the LT mark on the stator, i can't get one of the the left rockers on. its too tight as the rocker is being fully engaged and pressing down on the left exhaust valve...
