    1973 RD350

I've had an XR500 crankcase fill with fuel and not a drop came out of the overflow. I am obsessive about leak down tests, personally. I probably do them way more than I should, but with a 2T I worry about holing pistons. I'd still lean towards a timing issue or something related to spark...

Wet plugs can be several things. Start with your ignition and ensure you have fat blue sparks. Vape requires 5k of resistance, which means you need either resistor plugs with non-resistor caps or resistor caps with non-resistor plugs. Can't have both. Ensure timing is correct and ensure the...

    1973 RD350

I think you're going backwards on the pilot jetting. 180 is probably the smallest on the main jet with that setup- somewhere between 180 and 220 is typical. Maybe your elevation means going down to 160, but the 27.5 pilot should've been the one or possibly a 30 or 32.5, with your air screw 1 -...

    Restoration of a 74 RD350

No, I mean the braking surface. As in, there's plenty of life.

    1975 Yamaha RD350(LC) Preservation-mod Hellride

After a few years and flawless performance, the crank decided it was following Dolly Parton. It ran great until it didn't. A Vito's crank is already ordered, so hoping to have it back together within a couple of weeks.

    Honda FT500(ish) tracker!

Ah, that makes sense. It's a cool build. Interesting how we have to make choices based on our regions.

    Restoration of a 74 RD350

If you're just letting it sit for a while, coat it with 2T oil and keep it empty of fuel.

    Honda FT500(ish) tracker!

I built an FT500 with an XR500 engine. It's interesting they went through all that effort to convert the FT engine. The XR comes with a lighter flywheel and an auto decomp. So really they did all that work to basically have an FT transmission.

This is a fun build to walk in to. Gives me inspiration to get one myself. LOL

Always great to get your feedback, Mobius. Funny enough, I use silver solder quite often for custom throttle cables. Dip in acid and solder. Works great every time. Never have done it for brakes, though. The swingarm mount was mostly for simplicity and minimal fabrication, though I...

Nah. Never felt a thing on the rear brake, but figure a big bump or dip would grab.

I finally got around to designing the rear brake around the shift to rear sets.

A bit of a photo dump as I finally get around to printing some parts for the RD. I needed a bracket to hold the Vapor to get it off the handlebar and to clear some space for the ignition key. I also needed a bracket to allow me to flip the coolant pump and give a more seamless install...

    Restoration of a 74 RD350

So do the wrenches and pliers fit into the blue arm? Because that's badass. I teach engineering in high school. One of my former students designs prosthetics now. Would have no idea if he's involved with yours, but it's great what they're coming up with these days.
