1975 BMW R90/6 - Rocinante

And since @Hurco550 sent this to me, I'll commit an act of brazen self-promotion and throw it up here. The truly dapper gent in the blue suit behind me is the one and only, often copied but never duplicated, favorite of ladies worldover, welder and fabricator extraordinaire, and distinguished gentleman, Levi.

Sorry for crashing your thread but nearby, it stands waiting for a new owner:

.. your project made me start looking around, and this red beauty is so tempting. It's well-equipped: self-leveling rear shocks, a steering damper, progressive fork springs, a K&N air filter, a Bauer Plasmazündung ignition system, an alarm, hazard lights, heated grips, a Glaser fairing, and auxiliary gauges. Model year 1977 - 2500 USD

Wow, that's nice! Do you think that really is 15,501km or is it 115,501km? It might not be the most aggressive bike but it'll hold it's own during the sporty times and would faithfully take you anywhere you want to go in Europe, day after day, km after km. Have a small problem? Fix it at the side of the road using the onboard tool kit and be back on the road in no time.

Oh yeah... in that pix above the guy right behind me in the blus sport coat is DTT's own @Hurco550 who lives "around the corner and down the road" from me. He's riding his 1976 R90/6 and he and I were riding the two oldest bikes at that particular Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.

I talk with owner of this BMW ( it's only had two owners from new ) and told me that is 19500 km because the odometer has already rolled over for the second time, so BMW has 119500km but engine has about 75000km. It deserves a major service, as it spent many years under a blanket in the garage.
