First time into an older bike but I have always loved the CB's. Picked up this 16K 79 CB750K for an even $1K for a beat around the country-side with the wife bike while I pick up another for a no-holds-barred cafe style racer for my enjoyment.
$1K nets BBQ painted exhaust, turd brown paint, mini-apes, and spiffy highway pegs
But it was all there and would start with a jump, which turned out to be a new "dry" battery. Addition of some CB550 bars, addition of a cb1100 master cylinder, and removal of the highway pegs/engine gaurds along with the crappy stock exhaust made major improvments. Next up a new set of V&H 4-into-1 pipes along with a handy garage re-spray changed the demeanor quite a bit.
Shot it with the Duplicolor pant shop red, still needs some clear, but did turn out a nice shade of flat/textured red, and mush better than the brown/gold that was there before.
