1980 XS1100 Cafe Custom project

Yep skipped that part sorry! Sheesh I needed my coffee this morning.

Don't get me wrong, not hating on your build at all. The tank color is awesome, just don't try and make it something it was never meant to be, leave that for the smaller singles and twins :)

Ryan.

I built this to be different. If I wanted a typical CR I would have built one. I am a 6'2 275 lb guy. I wanted a bike that had a look I wanted but all the 750's looked like I had a bike shoved up my ass. This Is my first build. Have had many bikes in the past from rockets to supermotos. Just wanted something to cruise. Have a ton of cool places to ride in the southwest. So if it's not "period correct" or perfect, I really don't care. I had some inspirations I wanted to get close to ,flat track knobby tired low and fun rides.

Took it for a ride today and it feels tighter and nicer that it was when I got it. So I am looking forward to putting around in my 1100 cafe custom cruiser heavy oversized bike.

:)

Got some work done this weekend on it.

Pretty cool (fork brace), I really like the rear fender (fork brace), and the lines work pretty well (fork brace). You built a pretty cool ride but you need a FRIGGIN FORK BRACE! I hope you have a blast on this thing.....

Fork Brace is for sure on the list next. LOL

Forgot to tell you, I really like the color. I think you'll quickly figure out what the rest of the XS brothers know. They may be heavy, but they are a blast to ride and have plenty of engine and seem to be built for the long run...

I knew that color was going to be a part of the build. A guy next to my office has a paint shop. I picked it out of a stock ford color book. It is stock on the focus line. Was really easy to paint on my own. The only thing subbed out on this build was the upholster job on the seat cover. Been a fun project.

Built up a new seat. Just got it finished and mounted today. Like it much better. Moved the brake light and plate.

Sorry for the late post. Congratulations! It's beautiful! It's hard to look at a Yamaha Special and see that underneath.

Are you still riding and enjoying this bike?
