Thank you honda007,

On my first oil change (I was not aware of broken cam chain guide) I didn’t look for broken pieces.

There is small section of plastic missing from cam chain guide where metal part is intact.

What is optimal compression reading range for used 360?
Would start to worry below 140 PSI... optimal range should be somewhere 170 - 190 PSI

Thank you honda007,

This shop manual could have typo or wrong info?

Picture is too small?
With a compression ratio of about 9,5? it should be around 12 bar (175 PSI). in good condition. Below 9 bar (130 PSI) there's something wrong (tappet clearance, worn piston rings / cylinders).
Also make sure throttle is 'open', because with carburator slide down you'll get wrong (too low) readings because of the pressure drop.

Re: 1975 True North 360

I guess next is paint job/powder coating…

Frame, rims – black / powder coating
Fuel tank, seat – red/ paint job

Even better if you do it with the carbs off. The 360 uses CV carbs and so the slide is only up at the top of the RPM range.

Thank you Sonreir,
Congrats on your build, nice project!

Re carbs;

That is what I did ;)

No carbs

Looking good there. Will keep an eye on this build and especially would like to hear any experiences of getting the bike safetied in MB.

Looking good... I think you just encouraged me to go with powder coat instead of paint on my 360.

What are you guys doing with your VIN plate on the neck tube when you are having powder done? Cutting the rivets off and reinstalling later or just ditching it?

I ground the rivets off of mine and have it sitting on my workbench. I replaced the one on the bike with a cleaned up vinyl decal and then clear-coated over it.

I checked your project, nice quality work!

Sonreir, vinyl stickers are my favourite ;)

(I hope they are made by you, purchase was made in November on ebuy Dave R.)

did those engine case screws come as a kit I could dig that!!! lowes doesn't have crap for hardware. I have a mixed bag of screws/allen heads holding my cases on currently.
