Or just keep a 5 gallon can in the garage and top it off before you leave.
I like the idea of having extra fuel mounted on the bike. I may want to look into it. That will come later after I work out a couple things. But yeah I keep a can in the garage so I can fill up when needed.
Hey Maritime I have a few MSR bottles already. I'll have to keep them in mind once I get around to mounting something.
Joe that is a pretty sweet deal. I like that a lot. Figure something under the seat rails would look the part. Appreciate the ideas fellas.

This is not much of an up date but I guess I'll let the cat out the bag. I plan to take the bike back a few years in looks. Bars will be much like those on the spitfire bike. Swagger is milling me a couple of fork mounts that I'll weld bars too. The bars will mount below and in front of the top tree. Plan is to bend them back to a comfortable riding position but will be on the narrow side. The headlight will be mounted to the bars. Next are dual brass petcocks straight out the back of the tank. Tabs will be welded to the front and rear of the tank so it can be mounted with brass wingnuts to the top of the backbone. Any exposed wiring will be the vintage looking stuff that lowbrow customs sells. I plan to drill and tap the frame and thread small brass I bolts so to route the wiring through. Ok, cats out of the bag.
Today I cut the drag bars way down and mounted them up so we could do rider profile pics. Right now my mind is pretty set on the new bars but wanted to take a couple rider stance with the narrowed drag bars (please don't pay attention to the ratty wiring hanging everywhere. Hope to tackle the wiring once the fab work is done). Anyhow, I loved how the bike felt with a more forward lean. This is still a little upright:
I figure the new bars will give a little more of a forward lean/racer stance like the good ol days
I considered matching the bar mounts with another set to hold headlight ears but Swagger came up with a better idea. This is what he drew up:
I may ditch the Benelli headlamp and go with the much larger factory honda bucket. It will be slammed down low. If I do the factory light plan is to make a sleeve for the speedo to fit into and mount it on the side of the tank. We'll see. I'm still pretty busy with other projects so this one will only get work when I find the time. Sorry but updates will continue to be slow
