As to not hijack Troy's thread. Sometime next week I'll post the bike into "BOBBER CHOPS and Hard-tails" section. Heading out @ 3am for an open house party at a friends bike shop. Papaclutchcustoms, taken all the bikes.

yeah man I love those things too. I tried to get a pair awhile back but didn't hear back from him. I don't think he is on the board any longer.
I'm pretty sure you have to put the screens in yourself but mostly they can't be seen because they are at the carb end.
How did the open house party go Monte64? That little scoot has to be the bomb when she is out in public!!

Troy, That open house went great. All was greeted with a hand shake or a hug, never a harsh word was said, just a kick back time. It's a small community, just can't beat it for a good time. The scoot was a eye catcher, most bike there were shovels, rats to full out customs. Had a guy there do some pin striping around the lace in a copper/gold, really made everything pop.
I did the stacks myself with a 2" flaring tool. No screens or filters, tried different types of filters but could never get them to work right. I upped the main jet one size and the plugs are nice and tan.
Dang thing is a joy to drive, you have to drive this thing, (not ride it). These vintage Firestones suck on any road with rain grooves, but thats the fun of it. Rides worse than my rigid bobber. The 4 inch strech in the swingarm made her handle great on the highway.

Should have checked this lond ago Monte64 and others. One of the few things I've neglected over the past few months. I apologize. So, glad the open house went well Monte. I'm sure your little scoot left a good impression. I would be interested in a pair of those stacks....
And on to a little update:
Not had much time at all this winter to work on anything motorcycle related. As some of you know I've been in search for a tank for several months. I really wanted something more streamlined and more form fitting. So I found one a while back but never had the time to do anything with it. Its a brand new
Whizzer replica tank on ebay for cheap. I had to remove all the electronics from the top of the backbone to let the tank sit lower. This does mean that if I use this tank I will have to find a place for all the electros and rewire the bike. Not a real big deal though. And it would give me the chance to try internal wiring. Also I'm torn on which bars to use. The good thing is I can swap them up for a change in no time. What do you fellas and gals think:

Thanks man. I think I'll weld some small tabs on each end and weld a bolt on the backbone that way I can go back to the ol brass wingnut mount. The tunnel is very narrow and jsut fits around the backbone. The electronics will need a new home because I did have them all hidden on top the backbone and under the tank. Shouldn't be a problem though.

I can't decide which is better! FU's are so done at the moment, but they look just as good.
Hmm, damn I wish it snowed in Australia. Bikes look so sweet in snow!
Maybe a toolbag for the electrics? Under the headlight? Or even in that vacant area under the tank?
