Yard stick... that would also give you the distance between the forks.

I was stunned that I'd not thought of the above until it occurred to me that my metric wrench collection peters out around 27mm :)

really, who has 35-40mm wrenches in their tool box. If you could afford a set of wrenches that inclusive surely you would own some proper measuring tools ;D

That works for me,,,though I don't have many (none) 35 MM wrenches.... never mind 41mm, those are BIG...
