Bam.
First impression is it's too dark. Maybe a light metallic candy wash type coat over it to lighten it up closer to all the alloy pieces, but still see the CF through the paint/clear?

^ This. Chis and I had a brain storm tonight on this idea. using the silver CF, and then skeletonizing the fender to match the cutouts of the tank somewhat (modified for the fender, obviously).
Then I had another idea, to make aluminum bezels to trim the edges of the cut outs in the carbon fender. Something like on those black things above the headlights of the Audi, but without anything in the center. Does that make sense?
Chris was kind enough to come over and do some critiquing tonight as well. I owe ya for that man, it's always nice to get another eye!

I like that idea. It could definitely look very cool.
And just for the record, seeing this iteration in person is a trip. Photos don't do it justice; it's straight-up pure business. I can't wait to tear around town along side this thing in a few months...

The tank looks wicked. I like the way the welds are exposed. Looking at the last pic on pg 23 I was wondering how a belly pan in aluminum with the same welding seams would look. Maybe just me but it feels like it needs something down there? Either way it's looking great.

Yes. or a formed sheet alum fender.
+1 on the belly pan. I think a lot of guys here are starting to like them from the repsol bike that just won BOTM. and rightly so, they're bad ass. I would say keep the belly pan and the front fender made out of the same material. both in silver cf would look damn cool. or both in aluminum like everything else. just my .02

A little more work today. I got some more lock wiring done. Another shot of that:
Then I set to mounting the nitrous bottle. I ended up modifying a grease gun mounting clamp, so that I could have a bail-type latch for easy cylinder changes. It ended up working pretty well. I will lock the bail with a zip tie every time I refill the bottle, so that it can't inadvertantly come open. The whole mount ended up looking pretty cool:
And last, I removed and copper plated a couple plugs from the flywheel cover, to give a little more feature to the LH side.
Now I am thinking that I might change the name of the bike from "Kool-Aid" to "Post-Apocolyptic Zombie Raider"...waddya think of that!

Showed it to the folks from the Harley Dealership at a bike night (sans bikes) last night. Most were really appreciative. The guy that designs most of the custom bikes really dug it. One girl got really confused. I heard her ask her boyfriend, "I don't get it, where do you sit?"

Safety wire looks pretty good except its not quite right. The wire should always pull in the direction the bolt tightens. Yours are neutral or puling the wrong direction.
As you can see in the picture, neutral isn't bad, just not optimal. Its best to always have some pull on the bolt. Also, the wire that passes around the bolt head and meets the wire that goes through the bolt should always wrap in the direction that tightens the bolt.

Raven: That diagram is great. I really appreciate the feedback. In reality, the lockwiring is more for looks than function, since this thing will never see a track, but nonetheless, if I'm gonna do it, I might as well do it right!
