my bobber build

The belt is awesome and I love "stupidity is the mother of invention." I'm definitely going to use that since it's so often true for me.

i'm itching to get the frame painted so i can get the motor in but there always seems to be something else i have to do before that >:(

i need to sort out a battery/ wiring box before i do that and i think i'll be good to go.
 
stole the peg idea from Noel ;)

motor is almost ready to go in once the frame is painted
it still needs a heli-coil in one of the exhaust studs

well the belt thing was out of necessity. i would have rather been smart enough to weld tabs on before lining my tank but god graced me with good looks instead :-\

the bolts welded to the framefor mounting the pegs, i saw when i went by Noel's to pick up the motor.
his where done the same way and looked perfect
 
Ah I see. I thought the actual peg was some super secret $50 mod reserved for the Toronto kids.

well it's not surprising since we both come from the same back round.

the scooter world has produced many cafe and chopper lovers over the years

here's the chopped vespa i had quite some years ago. it was built by a friend of mine and i loved it.
i could probably buy it back for a song less the engine

in my haste to line my hap jones tank, i forgot to weld the mounting tabs on. :-\

well, seeing old bikes with leather and steel straps holding on the tanks seemed a better idea than welding on tabs and relining the tank.
i used left over spokes for the loops that are welded to the frame, and one of my wife's old belts.
here is the outcome.

Just be sure to put some rubber between the frame and the tank or the vibration from the frame will crack the tank!!..
