Thanks. I'm a huge fan of quotes. Like Winston Churchill said, “It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations. The quotations, when engraved upon the memory, give you good thoughts. They also make you anxious to read the authors and look for more.”

That said, was there a reason you choose to stick with the stock shocks? It seems a lot of guys ditch them as a matter of course and I'm wondering if there's something I've maybe missed.

Welcome to DTT Brother Mike, I am not here to come to anyones rescue as you call it however I thought I would share my experiences here as well, back when I first joined DTT a long time ago I started posting a build that was a little different before most of the people here really knew who I was or what my skill level was and to be honest I was not sure how me and Brother Teazer would get along at first either and to be totally honest I used to joke and call him my assigned heckler here! Hahahaha! I can honestly say he has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share and he shares it with everyone here, you will see that he takes the time to reply to almost every thread that is asking for help or technical advice and we should all follow his lead and take more time to help those that need it.

You will also find that Brother Teazer does not go around DTT picking out things he would change on everyones bikes, I think he was more just trying to give advice on what others may think could use more detail on a pro level build. To be totally honest with you man I always enjoy hearing compliments about my work just like everyone does however hearing the honest opinions of others about my builds even if they are opinions that are different from my own or are from a different design standpoint always help me to keep pushing harder to improve the quality of work that I do and that is one of the things that I love about Brother Teazer as I always know I can count on him to be totally honest with me. I try to learn something new every day and a lot of times hearing what others have to say truly helps me do that.

I think if you take the time to get to know him you will find that Teazer is a good Brother and you will come to view him with the same admiration and respect that I do.

I have heard that you are a good guy and I believe it, there are a lot of really good people here so stay with us and keep sharing your builds! Welcome to DTT Brother!

Brother Brad, I drove my CB550 900 miles in one day back before I started to reverse port it and she ran like a dream! I did break a chain half way though, it was funny man because before I left my Dad said something about my chain so I took an extra one with me just to make him happy! It is always good to listen to advice!
 
Thanks for the welcome and understand what your saying. I'm not pissed at Teazer one bit I actually privatly messaged him to make sure he knew I meant no harm. The Brad guy now he still comes ff as well lets just leave it alone. I'm here to add to the site and share in the fun. Thanks again.
 
I love the color scheme! Nice work all around. I am in no place to take anything away from your efforts as I don't have the skill set to even come remotely close to a build like this. Nicely done.
 
We won 1st. Place Ace Cafe Best Custom Cafe. 1st place with the Cb350 in best custom garage build. Led the pack riding with Carpy and the Rockers. The little 550 hit the Ton plus 25 over. Hell of a day. Thanks guys for the nice comments. Met. A lot of Ton Up Guys and the site owner great guys...

Welcome to DTT Mikemach, I love the CR lookers and your bike took a lot of thinking outside the box. Me, I leave the hard shit to the pro's and just try to make them look good using what the factory gave us with cosmetic bolt-ons. So builders like yourself leave me in awe. CONGRATS!
You may have come into it with a rocky start, but these guys are the best in my oppinion. As said earlier, Teazer and Brad are members in good standing, not just posting on threads to get their count up. They actually care! Also, here we talk like you were standing next to us sippin on a cold one. No pussy footing around. ;)

Congrats on both trophies last Saturday. I noticed that there were some very well connected, I mean built bikes that won.
 
I love the frame - the rear triangle is super cool. And I second the previous comment about the paint and the hub.
 
Congratulations Mike, this is by far the nicest 550 I have ever seen no matter what anyone here have said. You have great talent and a good eye for aesthetics. The whole thing just flows nicely and is beautifully executed.
