Not your usual carb leak question Please help!

The sealing taper is the black rubber conical piece on the float valve - if it has any cuts / grooves / rings around it they may not seal properly.

The brass seat that the float valve goes into is pressed in. It has an o-ring that seats it into the carb body. You'll need to squirt some WD40 between the seat and the carb body and carefully pull the seat out. If that o-ring is broken or damaged fuel goes past it and straight into the carb bowl bypassing the float valve.

Floats are all pulled. All needles are pushing back with force. All needle "rubber points" are smooth and should be seating correctly on this side. The only variance I see is on #1,copper "needle insert" has discoloration compared to other carb bodies. Pic is attached. Next I will remove these and check them. Any advice on tool or how to remove other than carefully and with wd thanks guys!

May have been a small piece of debris you knocked loose and didn't see that was keeping the float needle from seating. I had a friend who rode a Kawasaki Vulcan 750 that had carb issues. He spent almost $200 at a shop trying to get his carbs fixed. They told him he needed news carbs. I told him to take the carbs off and bring them into work. Fifteen minutes after I started working on them, they were fixed. I found a very small piece of debris on one of the seats.

I had the same debris issue on a different bike. Check your gas tank. It may be dirtier than you think. If you have some room, toss a mini fuel filter on the line after the petcock.

First pic you posted looked like the throttle shaft?
If you have fuel coming out of there the bike is upside down ;D
Don't mess with the float seats, unless you really want to buy new carbs, they don't come out and you can't get new ones
You'll probably have to remove carbs from mountings, real PITA when that happens, plus, I think the 'O' rings are a weird size so only available from Honda at exhorbitant cost
If you get one that isn't damaged you may be able to measure it, or, you will get an answer on SOHC4.net
They are metric so doubtful if you can get them 'local' ?

Yeah all those little connectors have 2 o rings on each end. Probably pretty buggered at this point. Pull them apart and replace.
I have had luck with off the shelf o-rings on my 400f but haven't tried a 550.
