Teledan's XT500 project

Its been a long time since I have posted anything, and it looks like all my pictures on here are gone so I better post a pic of the bike as it sits today. I just picked up some new bars so those will be going on soon. I also want to redo the taillight mount, it has started to crack and I didn't really like how I did it so I want to figure out something a bit more sturdy. I also need to make an inner fender to keep road junk from going up towards the engine.

Decided to re-do the subframe and build a better tail light mount because it kept cracking. I chopped off the rear “hoop” and welded on some tubing with some slugs I machined. Then I added a flat bar at the back where the tail lights mount. I decided to use two Prism Speedster lights. I also made an inner fender that mounts inside the new hoop. I think it turned out pretty good, and is much more solid. I still need to make and inner fender that sits vertically between the rear wheel and where the motor is.

Thanks, yeah I like the look of high pipes but I couldn't find many aftermarket ones. Luckily I found this header and midpipe set on ebay by a seller named goinfitdaflow. I did cut up the midpipe a little bit to shorten it. And the muffler is from Cone Engineering. The pipe is just bare steel but I wipe it down with wd40 every once in a while. I'll probably get it coated or painted at some point.
