I started to work the dents out on the tank the cross over pipe is broke off ans the key is bent at 90° soooo. I cut a big hole in it for a flush mount fzr cap cap is just sitting there in the pic. I wonder how many rd400 tank im gonna distroy

Last night i decided to try to clean the shop. im in the middle of a few seat builds and the clutter was becomming a issue. After i got the worst of it i turned to my rd befor going to bed, a few mins later i had another 2 1/2 hole through the top and bottom. i ran a hunk of exh pipe through the tank cut it to lenght and welded it out. this tube is the begining of my oil tank. i learned a few things from my last tank simple is the key

This cap will be atop the hole when all is said and done and a small box will be underneath for a res the tube it self is around the size of a small tube of spectro. and should mix a little more than a tank of fuel as it sits.

When I saw the first pix w/ that second hole in your tank I thought maybe you were adding a custom and convenient bottle/can/cup holder. Great job on a great bike.

Haha what you think im builden a harley besides this bike will shake your teeth out.plus it tries to pull your arms outta socket ta 50 mph them tries to kill ya to 100. it dont have cup holder manners hell it doesnt even have ridding around town manners, pointless fucking motorcycle hahaha thanks tho

ha ha, nope, certainly ain't a harley. 'Bout all you'd be able to do is use a hunk of tubing like a straw and clench your teeth!
