TX500 build

ooh ya! got it running then tore it down, when i opened up the cases the whole motor looked brand new... someone rebuilt it before i got it! hell even the valves where propperly gapped

Hey man, I noticed you powdered some parts on there that are going to be getting a lot of action! How does that stuff hold up (specifically the rear sprocket) under that much stress?

ha ha ha i powder coated everythign on the bike but the seat and tank hahaha ha... as long as the powder is propperly cured it will hold up fine... i did not use a double durrable powder on the sprocket just a reg one... i expect it to wear though where the chain meets the sprocket but the rest will hold up just fine

got a needy girlfriend... that needed some "us" time yesterday... as well as some issues with a starter on the chopper not working... so i have been juggling a bit...
I have a bit of body work to finish up on a tank then i am going to solder in the last few switches and hook up power to test it all... hope i can do it all tonight!

Where'd you get the aluminum front mastercylinder cap?? I am going to work on polishing my mastercylinder tonight, but the black plastic cap looks like shit.

well... was up wiring till 2 am again last night... hooked it up and no power... i am going to go though it later this week and double check everything... i hope it is something easy that i screwed up... but i got a tank to finish tonight!

I love electrical problems LOL. I am sure it will end up being something simple. If that is my tank you are working on, no worries man. You are WAY closer to riding than me! LOL. Do whatchu gotta do. As much as I want to see how the bike will look with the tank, I can definately wait too. Got plenty to keep me busy this coming weekend!! Besides, we are getting rain/sleet/snow right now. I thought winter was over ::)

ha ha ha ME TO!!!! funny part is... i think my dad is pushing me harder to get your tank done than anyone... he really is diggin it... somethign tells me that he has a chopper build brewing and is not telling my brother or I... well i am sure i will know when he needs his stuff powder coated... i was busting his balls last weekend about how he could not build bikes like he used to any more, rocking a almost stock harley... think i touched a cord on that one... he is really loving the chrome powder... i may have created a MONSTER! ha ha ha...

The guys at the 650 forum are watching like hawks to see how it turns out also! I think I may be able to drum up some more business for you assuming you want it when this is all said and done!

cool that would be good man... this compressor thing is really a drag but thanks for understanding... you will be pleased that i can promise you!

i am going to get my other compressor from my shop at home out... it is not enough to blast with but is way more than enough to lay powder... i can hand prep (have to anyways to get the body work right) from here... if the JB weld touch up on the top of the tank is good i can shoot tonight... if not i will have to wait till tomorrow to lay the next coat... should be good though

sweet. well, shoot me an update tomorrow and let me know what you decided to do. I think in order to get it this week, it would have to go out tomorrow. Otherwise, we would be into next week anyways. So it is really your call. I gotta roll!! Hope everything works out man. I am STOKED to see how it looks on the bike.
