  • See if you can Safecoat Polyureseal, Mike. Otherwise, you can always go with a high solids oil or wax.

  • Thanks, I have one issue, the odor level is high according to minwax. I may need to go with a low odor no VOC product because of Holly

  • That's what I think I am going to grab. couldn't find it local so I am hoping to find it tonight in Maine, got to go pick up parts and presents we ordered LOL

  • I like the wipe on semi-gloss or high gloss
  • Dec 14, 2018, 10:43:04
  • advCo:
  • Yeah, I never really like the high gloss look of epoxy
  • Dec 14, 2018, 10:42:41
  • Maritime:
  • 'll go with the epoxy, thats a bit overkill

  • And the black looks ok and the chrome looks ok, but untill the bike is all back together and painted etc I reserve the right to give my opinion then LOL
  • Dec 13, 2018, 13:12:29

  • I know the glue and clamps willl be fine, I just need to make sure to alternate clamps above and below to keep it from wanting to arch.
  • Dec 13, 2018, 13:11:42
  • advCo:
  • I think it looks good either way. I like a little chrome. Fork stanchions help it blend in
  • Dec 13, 2018, 12:25:46
  • irk miller:
  • Another option is to scotchbrite the chrome, so it'm more like aluminum.
  • Dec 13, 2018, 12:14:28
  • irk miller:
  • I'm leaning towards black, too.  I think it will make more sense when it's all painted.  The bike won't have any other chrome, so the bezel will just stand out even more.
  • Dec 13, 2018, 12:12:25
  • advCo:
  • You'll be fine just gluing it up
  • Dec 13, 2018, 11:13:41

  • Ahh yeah. I had a slot cutter bit with interchangeable blades that you can change the height
  • Dec 13, 2018, 11:13:21
  • Maritime:
  • I looked at my bits, the rabbit bits won't work for the slots. they are for top edge. I am not going to be able to cut the slots mid way down. If I still have some dowels for my tool I'll use it but otherwise the bar clamps and gorilla glue will have to do
