  • Always fun how VW used parts until they ran out.

  • That bus is weird. Must have been made right at the t2a/t2b transition. has late bay taillights and type 4 engine bay with early bay front end low marker lights
  • Jan 10, 2019, 16:08:25
  • Maritime:
  • I should net 2" in clearance from the 2. I can get a skid plate from UK and go play off the beaten path a bit. It's not going to be a rock crawler but fun on dirt back roads and in the snow
  • Jan 10, 2019, 16:01:56
  • Maritime:
  • Yep, when I need to replace the tires, I think I'll order that up and go AT for sure

  • Ha, found a kit with 30 front and 40 back for 142 USD
  • Jan 10, 2019, 15:27:39

  • Putting a LSD in the thing makes it work pretty good offroad too.
  • Jan 10, 2019, 15:21:07
  • Maritime:
  • That may work.
  • Jan 10, 2019, 15:04:13
  • JustinLonghorn:
  • Go 30 front, 40 rear
  • Jan 10, 2019, 14:55:51
  • Maritime:
  • I'd rather a 40MM kit which is 1.5" but can only find the rear so far
  • Jan 10, 2019, 14:53:27
  • Maritime:
  • Those are winter rated so no need to swap tires in the winter either.
  • Jan 10, 2019, 14:52:48
  • Maritime:
  • Think I will. lift kit out of Russia for 172. 30 MM = 1.18" which should be enough with some wheel spacers and wheel well finessing to get 27x8.5xR14 general grabber AT tires on
  • Jan 10, 2019, 14:52:15
  • JustinLonghorn:
  • DO IT!

  • Maritime:
  • Nice bus. I want to have something to go fishing with and the little car will do better than the CRV is I lift it a bit and put bigger tires, skid plate and a roof rack. They rally the little buggers in EU. It will also make it better in the winter and easier for me to get in and out of

  • There is also a short somewhere, because sometimes not always, I can pull 12v from the headlight bucket.  Oh old bikes :)
  • Jan 10, 2019, 10:35:02
  • JSJamboree:
  • If it was a short it would show that there is a fault on that power out, the m-unit doens't show a short though, so I think its a faulty something not a short.

  • Jan 10, 2019, 09:43:37
  • irk miller:
  • I thought Kiley put all electronic with an M-unit in that thing.  I thought the M-unit tells you where the fault is, but then I don't know shit about M-units.

  • @Irk the BMW is running a Enduraspark ignition with Dyna coils and its all controlled by the MotoGadget M-unit, so... it could be anywhere in there
