DTT BOTM WINNER
Hi and thanks for looking.
This is my third build the first is here http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=22950.msg243299#msg243299
But not had chance to load up the second one, if I get enough interest I’ll get it sorted.
BTW it’s a Z650 with a Gpz750 lump shoe horned in.
Here is the start of a 1978 CX500. I managed to get this off EBay and was cheap as chips.....well 112 bags of them!
I started this build over 6 months ago and it’s about 75% there.
So over the next few weeks I’ll do some posting

Next was to lose the air box and wiring, pull the front end out.
I must apologize for some of the bad pictures as I took some on my phone.

I managed to get my hands on a pair of Ducati monster up side down forks with yokes.
I had to press and machine the CX triple tree centre stem to fit the tree/yokes of the monster forks.

Nice find. What's the plan for the back end? Easy fitment on the front wheel?

I for one could use another couple pics of your lift as I'm having trouble figuring out how it works. :)

Hi Rich,
Here is a pic with a bit of detail, hope this helps with the build!
As for the bike, the comstar wheels are not staying.
This will of course rase the question. what are you using for the back end as it's shaft drive?????
Watch this space ;D

As you can see on the swing arm the metal maggot has been feasting away!

Next was for the tank, I didn't like the standard one so I managed to get hold of a custom tank.

You've got my interest regarding the rear wheel, the only easy adaptations I've seen are spokes or stock (or GL1000) so I'm curious to see if it's something different to one of those as I'd be interested in doing a conversion on mine if you have some neat way of doing it :)

Cheers
Steve

I've been considering stockpiling them in case they become the next trendy tank :)

Ivansscramblercafe as Rich well Ard said it a stock cx500 tank.
Where in the world are you? if you want the tank it's yours!
It's diet time!

Next for what I had in mind was a bit drastic.
I needed to widen the frame by 1” to take the new swing arm.
There has been a lot of curiosity about what I’m doing with the back end.
Tune in tomorrow night pop stars to find out!
