I had the same issue on my 75 CB360. The smoke was coming out of the breather tube that goes from the top of the motor to and exits out the bottom of the bike. Some smoke is O.K. Excessive smoke is a sign of worn rings or valve seals, etc. My rings were bad as well as the valve seals...
