Keep at it dude, and take what people say on here with a grain of salt most of the time. Everyone means well, but its always fun to stir the pot a little and show everyone how big your internet balls are ;). Here is my 550. If you have any questions or want to borrow any ideas feel free to reach...
Ive done a propane torch before. I also second not using rattle can paint on your hubs. I have also tried it before and it chipped when lacing the 1st spoke. Use a HVLP setup with a catalyst or bake on your powder. Only thing I don't like about powder is that if a rock hits it hard enough...
No worries redbullenema!
Ok just got off the phone with Electrosport. I will be sending them my unit for testing so they can warranty it. The rep advised me that their products are NOT to be used with lithium batteries including Shorai. I asked why, and he simply said they are not compatible. I...
Gotcha hillsy,
When I get my stator back I will do a test at 3k rpm. It did fail a ohm test though so I am sure it needs attention.
Frogman,
I replaced all the electrical on the bike except for the stator. Headlight was disconnected. My goal is to run a lithium battery in this bike if I can...
Did a ohm test from the yellow and white to the common"which in my case is green, maybe it use to be pink 40 years ago". Results were bad with inital reading being a 1.5 on both wires and rapidly dropping to 0.000 within 2 seconds. Should I bother with any more tests?
On my 72 CB450 I am getting 12.3V dc at the terminals at idle with a brand new ricks rec/reg. I tested the volts that the alternator/stator is putting out and on my green wire "i dont know why mine is green every diagram is pink" I am getting 12+V ac. On my yellow and white I am getting roughly...
Ok so did some minor testing on the bike. All lighting is shot and I redid the wiring harness enough to start her. Luckily the ignition is still functioning. My reg/rec is blown as well but am not sure if the battery explosion caused it or the other way around. I am going to order a mosfet style...
Bought a voltmeter to test everything. I read a few posts that sometimes these batteries do not work well with a points ignition system due to spikes. Dont know how true that is but maybe its time for a electronic ignition.
