It says in the manual to put it on the bearings in the cylinder head but I can't find any more information about them anywhere. http://data.sohc4.net/SM500/HSM500550_2.pdf page 31 That would be really great though if there aren't actually any bearings.

So I spent some of today working on it my bike and when squeezing the clutch or pulling up on the lever it connects to on the engine it still does not engage the clutch. The lady at my local parts store said I just need to readjust it so I went through all the steps in the Clymer manual again...

Any screw should do the trick so long as it isnt painted but probably lead coated ones would be better.
