Engine is from an '06 BMW F650 Dakar, 650 Rotax single with fuel injection. Was looking at the starter one night and thought it was about the size of my beer, so when I was done with it I cut the can up and I was right. Gives people something to talk about. ;) This is the bike I drempt up...
Here is a sneak peak into my big ass project...
(1993)
I got this bike in 1992 and rebuilt it then. It was my first bike, and is my oldest in a family of 9 and counting. In 1995 I blew the engine and there it sat until 3 years ago when I dusted it off and rolled it out of the basement. I...
'wrong side' :o I am pretty sure it is on the RIGHT side. ;D
Just something I thought up while working on my big project.
Glad to see someone is paying attention. Thanks!!
Not sure how the yellow on the light is put on there. It is not tellow glass and it is from the 50's or 60's. This is what it looked like when I got it before removing the glass lens and transplanting it to the honda headlight assy.
Here is a little better after pic.
Re: CL350, almost there
I did talk to a guy, I just need to ride down to his shop. Maybe tomorrow. :o
I don't want to paint it, I love the way it is faded and how there are wear marks on the stripes.
Re: CL350, almost there
I took the stock light and took out the stock lens and replaced it with this one. Found it at a friends house in his old swap meet parts. It is a Unity light from the 50's, I had never seen one with the clear stripe on it and knew I had to have it. ;D
Re: CL350, almost there
Been away for awhile but kept up with the site. (side covers are off while tuning)
as far as jetting goes with the vm34's I am real close, will be on the dyno again next week and will let you know.
Re: CL350, almost there
Chain was a little loose and rusty, didn't have air filters that day yet.
I will get a couple new pics up soon I hope.
Thanks for the comments.
Re: CL350, almost there
I did the brake like most other people, still working out the bugs. I will get a pic up soon.
Shift pattern is inverted (gp) I am going to make linkage someday, that was just the fast and easy solution.
Still have some tuning with the VM34's but they are working...
