    Metro Detroit Cafe Racers

This site has drawn me back into the fold! Time to bring out the cafe bike after a 3 year garage hiatus! When I started putting my bike together back in 2006/2007, I couldn't find anyone in Metro Detroit to hang, ride, or wrench with. There was a FB page for MI cafe racers but it has since...

    Fuel Type

Howdy All... Been far too long since I hung out on these boards, but winter in MI and 6 months south of the border (the US border) has got me out of the loop. Just had a question - albeit maybe a mute point... What grade of fuel do you guys run in your CB's? It's about that time for me to...

    CB350 oil filter

Aright... Dumb Question... On the 350 twin, when changing the oil, are you supposed to be able to remove the oil filter? If so, how do you do so? Neither manual I have gives any illustration, clear view, or explanation of it. Just to clean the "cup" that the stuff spins out into. When taking...

    The Magikphun CB350 Project

Well - Success... The Magikphun Project Phase I is now complete. Yup, it's still rough, and there is a long way to go. But for now she is ridable and fun. I covered the seat, and made some makeshift brackets for th license plate and the tail lamp. I don't like the position of the tail lamp or...

Birth of a seat for the Magikphun Project...

Foamed the seat today... Eek - it looks kinda ugly. But is nice n cushy - even too - when sat on... I used Leon's plug idea for the cowl, then build a bed for the padding out of the EVO foam flooring to even everything out. Then added a 2" layer of heavy duty high density upholstery foam...

Birth of a seat for the Magikphun Project...

Some more progress tonight... I think I am going to try and re-use the original seat cover as well. It may be salvageable. More tomorrow probably.

Birth of a seat for the Magikphun Project...

Progress so far... Tank is roughly monted to seat int he position I like. I will then dissasemble strip down the foamies off the seat and reprime everything. probably bondo a couple nicks out of the tank as well - AFTER it gets bolted back to the seat 8). There is some tension on that sheet...

Birth of a seat for the Magikphun Project...

Started the seat today... Not sure how I am supposed to deal with the seat pan since it arches up, and presumably into the hump... Thoughts and suggested, tips, and tricks welcome...

How does the fender go on!?

Hmmm... i vaugely remember that. I still have the tool box, but I'd rather not have it on the bike... Unless y'all think thats a majorly stupid idea... Any ideas on how to secure the fender decently without it?
