The motors will swap easily enough, but I agree with hillsy, for the effort and expense you're probably better off just buying a 400T.

It's been quite a few years, but I think I got mine from the Motion Pro catalog through my local independent shop. Works on quite a few different Honda models so it is probably still available.

I really couldn't tell you how well different carb/motor combinations would work out. My Haynes manual lists carb model codes for 1980-83 in it.
